A New Study Points The Way To The best Way To Lose Weight
There is a very interesting report in a recent edition of The New England Journal of Medicine has found that it really doesn’t matter whether you go on a low carb diet, a high protein diet, a low fat diet an Atkins diet, a Zone diet or even an Ornish diet, it all boils down to the number of calories you take in and the number of calories you expend…so it’s calories in and calories out.
This study took place over two years and involved over 800 people so it was a pretty broad study. What all the groups found in the study was that their weight came back again in varying degrees. This is a similar experience to a larger study by researchers at UCLA who found that over 95% of people who went on a diet never achieved permanent weight loss.
Putting it bluntly, diets don’t work. Neither do they supply the structure and support that people need when they try and lose weight. Yes, it’s about calories in and calories out. It’s also about exercise and getting a structure that people feel is easy to follow. If you get the Atkins book, it’s a vast tome, written in close type, it’s hundreds of pages long. Can people really be expected to wade through all that detail? It has to be a lot simpler than that!
So what is the best way to lose weight and supercharge your weight loss is not to go on a diet. If you do the weight will come back. It’s been proved time and time again. It is of course about calories in and calories out and this can be put into a very simple and structured format of habits, slim habits, habits that include what you eat and how much you eat. Habits about calories and about exercise. Only by learning new habits can you get rid of your old bad habits and achieve permanent weight loss.
